The Village of Anna is set in beautiful rural
Shelby County, Ohio and is located along the I-75 corridor.
The population of the village was 1,567 at the 2010 census.

Anna is probably best known for its excellent school
system. Anna produces outstanding students
who excel both academically and athletically. Our school system
has received an excellent rating for several years. The
high school and middle school, located close to the center
of the village are complimented by a state of the art elementary
school in the north end of town. We invite you to explore

we have to offer.
You'll find that there are exciting opportunities to work,
or start a business here. The Village of Anna and the surrounding
communities support a wide variety of businesses and industries
employing local residents.
Anna is also home to the Honda of America
Manufacturing Plant that produces engines and other components
for a range of Honda vehicles. The engine plant employs approximately
2,500 and is within 2 miles of the Village corporation.
PARKS & RECREATION
The Village of Anna boasts a wonderful and well-kept park
facility. The park features a great playground for kids,
restroom facilities, tennis courts, a volleyball/badminton
net, soccer fields, horseshoe pits, a walking path (a little
over a 1/2 mile), open grassy areas for recreational activities
and two shelter houses equipped with electric and picnic tables.
The Village is known for its annual Anna Homecoming Festival,
which is held in June. This fun-filled
festival is sponsored by the Anna Civic Association and provides
activities and entertainment for all ages. Enjoy a parade,
cruise-in car show, Queen and Little Miss pageants, rides
and games, just to name a few. Plus, local bands play music
throughout the festivals, and there is always plenty of food

The Village of Anna was built on a strong religious foundation.
That foundation is evident as you notice the five vibrant
churches located in the community. The St. Jacobs Lutheran
Church and the Anna United Methodist Churches are located
within the Village limits. Outside the Village limits, you'll
find the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in nearby McCartyville,
the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville and
the Anna Church of Christ to the Southwest of the Village.

Brush will be picked up curbside every Monday and Friday from
April 1st to October 31st, depending on volume. From November
1st to March 31st, service will be by call-in basis only.
Response time during these months will be determined by the
workload and availability of Village personnel. It is adviseable
to allow a window of 3 business days for service.
GRASS & WEEDS
The Village of Anna hereby notifies all residents that Ord.
#1486-06 regulating high grass & weeds is in full effect.
The limit is 8 inches in height. The full ordinance is open
for public inspection in the front lobby of the Town Hall
at 209 W. Main Street or it can be viewed online at the following
A. Every stair, deck, porch, balcony, handrail and other apurtenances
shall be kept in sound condition and good repair.
B. All roofs, gutters, downspouts, fascia, soffits, rake and
freeze boards of principle structures and accessory structures
shall be maintained and weather tight and in good condition.
Gutters and downspouts must be firmly anchored. Roof timbers
or members, roof covering and flashing shall be installed
and finished to inhibit the entrance of moisture.
C. All exterior parts of every principal struture and accessory
structure, including decorative features, chimneys, fences
and all other exterior structures shall be maintained in a
safe condition and be reasonably weather tight so as to resist
Exterior walls and other exterior surface material of prinicipal
structures and accessory structures shall be free of holes,
cracks, loose or rotting boards and timbers, or loose siding.
All loose, rotted, or missing walls, siding, porches, floors,
steps, trim and their missing members must be replaced and
put in good condition. All replacements must be permanent
and of materials manufactured for such purposes.
WINDOWS AND DOORS
A. Windows of principal structures shall be fully supplied
with window glass or other material approved by the Administrator
without open cracks or holes, shall fit reasonably well within
the frames and shall be maintained so as to exclude adverse
weather elements from entering the structure.
B. Doors of principal structures shall be maintained so as
to be structurally sound, fit reasonably well within frames
so as to be weather proof and provided with door hinges and
latches which are in good working condition.
MAINTENANCE OF PREMISES
The exterior open space around each principal structure shall
be maintained in a clean, safe,and sanitary conditon and improved
so as to provide for:
A. Grass, planting or other suitable ground cover to prevent
soil erosion which is or may become detrimental to the structures,
lot use or adjacent lots and structures.
B. Yard walks, parking areas, driveways and exterior steps
must provde a smooth surface for safe access.
C. Proper storage of all items.
D. Proper storage or disposal of building materials. Buidling
materials may be stored on premises while work on repair,
remodeling, or construction is in progress, but such storage
shall be in the side and rear yards only and shall not exceed
six months unless otherwise approved by the Village Administrator.
No person shall located, erect, construct,
reconstruct, enlarge or structurally alter any building or
structure, including accessory buildings or strucutres, including
temporary buildings or structures without obtaining a Zoning
EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM
An emergency mass notification
alert system is available for all Shelby County residents
and workers to provide rapid notification about local emergencies,
hazards and other threats using a mix of telephone calls,
text and email messages, and TTY/TDD service for the hearing
impaired. This service will be used primarily for alerts in
regards to public safety, weather, environmental hazards,
criminal activity and missing persons.
